North
American DataCom Announces Deployment of Microwave Tower and
Right of Way Agreement With Local Railroad
IUKA,
Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 2000--Robert R. Crawford,
President and Chief Executive Officer of North American DataCom,
Inc. (OTCBB:NADA - news) www.nadata.com today announced two
developments critical to the Company's (NAD), plan to establish
a fiber optic conduit system in the southeast United States.
The first was the announcement of the completion of construction
of a microwave tower at NAD's main facility, located in Iuka,
Mississippi. The 200-foot tall tower enables NAD to commence
its telecommunications activity and offer wideband access
and last mile testing while the planned fiber optic network
is under construction, after which the tower will take on
a complimentary and redundant role. The tower will provide
NAD with direct Tier 1 connectivity to Atlanta and Memphis,
and will allow NAD to further its Enterprise Data Center technologies
and last mile wireless activities.
The second announcement concerned finalization of an agreement
with the Tishomingo Railroad. This agreement grants NAD the
right-of-way to connect its planned fiber optic network directly
into the Iuka facility. ``This `last-mile` segment will link
our strategically remote facilities to the southeast United
States network and beyond,'' said Mr. Crawford, ``plus it
will facilitate several aspects of our business plan, including
our Enterprise Data Storage Services and Telecommunications
Network Operating Center.
'' North American DataCom is an information technology company
with a core emphasis in Fiber Optic and Wireless Technologies,
Critical and Remote Data Vaulting and Storage, Internet Access,
and Information Technology Services. This vertical market
structure is central to NAD's overall business plan. NAD plans
to offer high-speed data access, Internet connectivity and
enterprise data storage services from its Mississippi-based
facilities.
North American DataCom, through its subsidiary, North American
Infotech (NAIT), is deploying a State-of-the-Art broadband
fiber optic and wireless distribution network within the southeastern
United States. When completed, the NAIT network will consist
of more than 3,000 route miles of fiber optic facilities,
and will be able to support the data storage and retrieval,
multimedia and e-Commerce communications applications associated
with the emerging Broadband Economy. NAIT plans to offer a
host of network based services including point-to-point broadband
services, managed wavelength services and high-speed DSL Internet
Access Services throughout the southeastern United States.
